I've Got Pollen!

Photo is titled Freckles IV by Dalantech on Flickr.

As if I don't have enough to do these days, once again I've caught the Macro Bug. Pun intended ;-) Whilst cruising around I've run across shooter Dalantech. Some amazing things in his Flickr stream. Just click the great bee image to see more.

Gearwise, I'm getting off very cheap this time ha ha. I just purchased 2 coupling rings from B&H. The total damage was about 17 bucks. As far as lenses and strobes looks like I'm all set. I've even got a monster bracket setup that I put together a few years ago.

So why the macro interest in November, when the insect life will be dying off or going elsewhere? Because it never hurts to gain more experience. Confidence in handling your gear when the prime season comes makes all the difference in the world.

Dalantech has a great little macro shooting blog called No Cropping Zone which can be found here.

I get the macro bug every once in a while. It's great to call in sick with it when you have nothing else to shoot. Lately I have the B&W bug, though.

BW always a passion. I don't have a good knack for it but I'm getting better. I think I need to rethink some subject matter, as some things are just not suited to that mode.
